COMMON QUESTIONS

Below are answers to some common questions -- we hope they're helpful!

What should I expect at North End?

North End is tucked into the Riverside Gardens neighborhood off of Plainfield Ave in Grand Rapids. There is ample parking in our lot and the main entrance is easy to find under the front portico of our building.

We are a small family of faith that is excited to see our longtime members and meet new guests. There is freshly brewed coffee available before the service in our lobby. Staffed nursery is available on our lower level along with men's and women's restrooms. If you need any other help in getting oriented, a member of our hospitality team is happy to assist you!

Worship begins at 10am and, usually, runs about an hour and fifteen minutes. More details on our service can be found here.

After the service there is a time of refreshments and visiting in the lobby. There is no obligation to stay after the service, but we'd love to get to know you!

What should I wear?

There is no dress code at NEC.

If you prefer to come before God in your Sunday best as a show of reverence or in the jeans and t-shirt of 'come as you are' -- there's a place for you at NEC!

What about kids on Sunday?

On Sunday mornings there is nursery care for our littlest ones on the lower level and for our little-bit-bigger ones to color or find other activities.  For those a bit older, we welcome and encourage them to participate in our service.  To help them engage in worship, we have a Children's Sermon each week.  Also, there are two children's bulletins (ages 3-6, 7+) available in our kid's corner with activities tied to the Bible passage for that morning.  Activity bags with crayons and other goodies can be picked up from the activity tree and dropped back off after the service.

What about special needs?

NEC seeks to be a place that assists those with special needs toward finding a place among our faith-family and meaningfully participate in worship. We are small, but eager to help in any way we can. Our main level is fully accessible along with our main-level restroom. If you have a particular need you'd like information about, please feel free to contact us with your question and we will respond as soon as we can.

Am I expected to give money?

Contributions to God's church and mission is an act of worship for those who call NEC their faith-home. As a guest, there is no expectation of any contribution to our ministry.
